Born in Threapwood, I moved to nearby Cheadle in early years and have lived there ever since. I was educated locally and at the age of thirteen I was accepted into Portland House Junior Art School. At fifteen my studies continued at Burslem and Stoke Art Colleges whilst serving a six-year apprenticeship with Chromo Transfer Company as an Artist/Designer. Eventually becoming a director of the company.
I worked in the Ceramic Transfer business supplying the pottery industry and its co-ordinates for over forty-five years, being involved in design in this country and abroad.
After taking slightly early retirement I continued for some years to undertake prestigious design commissions.
Now all my artwork time is devoted to a lifelong passion for painting pictures.
I work in traditional style using pure watercolour, acrylic and oils.
I am a member of the “Society of Staffordshire Artists” exhibiting with the society and at other venues.
