This was my first attempt at digital art, in December 2016.
I free-hand copied a sunset photo I’d taken in Australia, and traced over a photo of a good-looking seagull I found on the internet. I used Affinity Photo editing software (very much like Photoshop but a lot cheaper) and a Wacom stylus and tablet to paint on-screen.
I found it tricky using the stylus, I had to re-train my mind-hand coordination to transfer the painting action remotely from stylus to screen. But I was inspired by my first impressions of what could be achieved, so I went on from there!
